Portree

Portree is situated towards the centre of the Island of Skye, and has numerous shops, pubs and restaurants. The Aros Experience Centre is south of Portree is home to a lovely gift shop, cafeteria, cinema and theatre. Broadford

Broadford is a small yet bustling village and is home to The Skye Serpentarium which holds 500 rescued reptiles and amphibians. This is a great day out, and well worth a visit. Skye Jewellery is a small shop situated near the Serpentarium which manufacturers traditional and contemporary jewellery designs.

If you want to enjoy views of the Island from the water, from Broadford you can take a glass bottom boat trip to various remote spots on Skye. The boat will give you the opportunity to see the stunning coastal scenery of the Island, plus lots of marine wildlife including Dolphins, Seals and Otters.


Waternish

Waternish is home to the oldest inn on Skye where you can enjoy a lovely traditional meal. The Loch Bay seafood restaurant is worth visiting for an excellent culinary experience. The restaurant specialises in fish and shellfish dishes using freshly caught produce from the Island.


Dunvegan

Dunvegan boasts its famous castle and gardens which is home to the Clan McLeod.


Places to Eat

Stein is the oldest pub on the island and sits in a beautiful bay on the shore in Waternish where you will always receive a warm welcome. Another must if you are looking for a traditional island ceilidh is Edinbane Hotel, at almost any time of the day or night you will find one or more folk playing music. This hidden gem can be found on the road to Portree about 10 miles from Geary
